Glink is a communication package for Windows Workstations and Servers. It is designed to meet the needs of all major environments, including government, finance, industry, commerce and both professional and amateur home usage. It is used to access typical data processing applications such as payroll, inventory and accounting, and to access on-line services such as stock prices or commercial databases. Sales outlets use Glink to deliver transaction files to data processing centres, and journalists use it to deliver articles to their newspapers. Home users access bulletin board systems and public information services.
Glink is available in a Professional Edition and an Enterprise Edition. Both editions include the new GlinkAPI COM+ component that makes Glink visible to COM aware visual programmimg tools.
Glink Professional edition is intended for use on Windows workstations running Windows 9x, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
Glink Enterprise edition is intended for use on Windows NT or Windows 2000 servers.
Glink includes VTxxx, IBM 3270, IBM 5250, ANSI, ViewData, Minitel and Bull VIP/DKU emulation. It has a powerful script language and an extensive support of communication interfaces and file transfer protocols. Glink has been selected by a wide range of customers outside for PC to host communication applications needing a flexible emulator, powerful file transfer possibilities and integration with other applications (via DDE, OLE, WinHLLAPI and UVTI interfaces).
A special version of Glink Professional edition ("Glink Professional Open") is available for approximately half the price of the full Glink Professional edition. Glink Professional Open retains all the powerful features of Glink Professional but is packaged with the IBM3270, IBM5250 and VIPxxx emulations disabled. It is targetted specifically for users requiring either the ANSI or VTxxx emulations.
